Each year the citizens of the city returned to the field where the fist festival was held to party again. After several years beer began to be popular at the yearly festivals and the Oktoberfest tradition was born. As the birthplace of the fest, many people flock to Munich each October to celebrate. Tents are set up and beer is served to millions of participants every year.
